What is Face Embedding?

A mathematical representation of a face as a vector of numbers (typically 128-512 dimensions). Created by deep learning neural networks, face embeddings capture the essential geometric features of a face in a compact format that can be compared against millions of other embeddings efficiently. Two photos of the same person produce similar embeddings, even across different lighting, angles, and expressions.
